 להלן רשימה של המקורות העיקריים בהם השתמשו כותבי הערכים.

באתר "צמח השדה" השתדלנו להביא בפני חובבי צמחי ארץ-ישראל, בנוסף על הצילומים האיכותיים, גם תיאורים מפורטים של משפחות, סוגי ומיני הצמחים, הכוללים פרטים על מבנה הצמח, סימני זיהוי, בתי גידול ותפוצה, עונות פריחה ומידע נרחב נוסף. בנוסף על הידע האישי של כותבי הערכים באתר ובראשם מיכה לבנה ז"ל, מבכירי אנשי ידיעת הארץ והבוטניקה בישראל, מושתתים הנתונים הרבים האצורים בערכים אלה, מטבע הדברים, גם על מקורות מגוונים - כתובים ומקוונים, שהרי כל חיבור אינו צומח בחלל ריק.
