This is a tall shrub (4m) which has a globular form. The young leaves are reddish and the mature ones are deep green, of oblong triangular shape. It was found in JNF forest and was selected for special propagation program. The trees do not make seeds and all the propagation was done by cuttings.
Its nice shape and vivid color make it an ideal ornamental plant for the water-conserving garden. Its branches are also cut for inclusion in flower arrangements and bouquets.
This is presumably a spontaneous hybrid of Eucalyptus gomphocephala with a yet unnamed species. There are reports in the scientific literature of other spontaneous hybrids of Eucalyptus gomphocephala found in other countries.
This type was officially registered as known cultivar by JNF.
